Transportation Assistance Program
At Catholic Charities of Southeastern Ohio, we recognize that access to reliable transportation is not simply a convenience, it is essential to daily life. For many individuals and families across our region, especially in our rural communities, transportation challenged can become serious obstacles to maintaining employment, accessing healthcare, and pursing education.
Transportation is often the link between hardship and stability. By helping individuals remain mobile, we are helping them remain employed, continue their education, and access the care they need. This program reflects our mission to servce those in needs with dignity, compassion, and practical support.
Helping You Get Where You Need To Go
We offer two forms of assistance, depending on your situation:
Vehicle Repair Assistance
For those who own a vehicle but are facing financial hardship due to necessary repairs, Catholic Charities may be able to help. Through our partnership with the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School (JVS) and trusted partner businesses, we assist with essential repairs that help ensure your vehicle is safe and reliable. These repairs focus on restoring basic function so you can continue to get to work, attend school, and care for your health.
Bus Pass Assistance
For individuals without access to a vehicle, we provide support through bus passes in areas where public transportation is available. This assistance helps ensure you can: Maintain employment, attend school or job training and keep important medical appointments.
Who We Serve
This program is intended for individuals and families with limited financial resources who depend on transportation to meet essential needs.
You may qualify if you:

Have a household income at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Level

Require transportation for employment, education, or medical care

In certain situations, special circumstances may be considered when lack of transportation would result in significant hardship.
